Took the oil filter off today and cut it open, lots of small gold flake coming out of it with some bigger pieces stuck in the filter itself.
Gonna pull the motor this coming week and then take it somewhere.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that man. I'd recommend either fixing it yourself or taking it to Dave's engine and machining.

I don't know what could have caused this, from all my research i have ruled out a lot of things i thought could be the cause.

Would it tell me if i wasn't using the right oil? Thats my only issue now, i am not sure if the oil i was running was thick enough for the temps, that or the engine was built wrong.

thats why I'd call them.you never know what someone will do for you.At the very least they might be able to tell you if something you did was wrong so you can avoid this happening again.

Did you get on it as soon as u dropped the engine in? Or did you baby it all trough its break inn period?
My buddy dropped all new internals on a chevy 350 got on it tuff doing brake stands and all that lovelly hott rodding stuff. Crank bearings took a dump within the 1st week of him haulin ass.
We took the engine out set it on a engine stand. Took oil pan out took out the crank replaced crank bearings. All without having to pull the heads ![[Smile]](smile.gif)
Put everything back together turned it on no more clanking pinging noise.
Hopefully its this simple for u, u have an expensive engine sucks for it to fail on u like that. Sounds devastating!
