I was born in Laredo, always was known as a smugglers town, no work there, just straight crime, safer to be in Oakland, Richmond, or Hunters Point. You have to speak Spanish to live there, might as well be Mexico, Laredo is basically a City on both sides of the Border.

hey amen to that my mother currently lives there and is waiting on a transfer to come back to cali but yeaup hear plenty of stories from her bout exactly what you saying

Laredo is a crazy place to live, most of my Family still lives there, I thank God I live here even with the High Prices, Laredo is one the cheapest places I have ever seen. It was great in my 20s, you can drink and drive legally, carry a gun and have tinted windows. You think we have Cops here, Cops, Immigrantion Officers, and even the FBI are all over Laredo and it ain't that big and the next major city isn't for another 150 miles away and there is nothing in-between. There are check points on all roads checking for drugs, large amount of money and illegals. Some checkpoints even have lifts to check under cars, it's like crossing a border but you are 50 miles are so from the Border, they literally check everyone, it's crazy, Texas don't play, illegals have easy here in California.
