Check out this video about cut springs for drag, I also use cut 4 cylinder rear springs and has worked well for me. Funny thing in this video is what tools they use to install the lower control arms.

That what I run in my cobra. One coil cut foxbody springs in the rear and 14-150 coil overs in front.

I am scared for some of you cats with cut rear springs!
I cut fronts all the time. If you cut from the bottom the pigtail, it still sits firmly in the lower control arm perch.
But rear springs are different! The bottom of the spring tapers so if u cut there, you lose the taper. The top is completely flat so it securely sits in the spring perch. If you cut from the top, it no longer sits flat in the perch! Quick story, on my 93, I had Bullitt springs in the rear with 1 coil cut from the top. Once it was installed, I gave one of the rear springs a firm pull with my hand and it slid out! After that day I never ran cut rear springs ever again!
I know people do it all the time, but my experience scared me too much to ever run the risk, especially at the strip!

Why?
You JUST saw a video and HEARD PROS..not some internet amateur...tell you they have done this to hundreds of vehicles...
sometimes the advice of experienced weighs a lot more than just 1 person...
after seeing that video, I wouldn't hesitate to change my setup if needed

ya you dont want to cut the pig tail off from the rears, but the top part is fine i've been running my setup like this for over a year now no problems whatsoever
also alot of other forums like MM say to just cut 1 coil n the rear and 4cly in the front if your looking for looks and a good drag spring [ September 26, 2011, 09:12 AM: Message edited by: SWEET03GT ]

I run stock GT springs 1 coil cut in the rear , with QA1 adjustable shocks , Adj upper control arms and Lowers.. on 26x10.5x15 et streets.. My car is super soft in the rear when im adjusted right. Its seen upwards of close to 7k rpm launches (on accident ofcourse)
Ive never seen a spring just pull out of the perches when the car is on the ground. There was something defiantly wrong there. [ September 26, 2011, 05:47 PM: Message edited by: Vndcatr ]

I run stock 87-93 GT Springs in the rear of my car. Car has been low 1.2 60fts. They arent cut as of yet due to the ride height I need for the larger profile tire. I will be going to a shorter tire and will be trimming the stock spring.
