A banging sound system and under drive pullies dnt mix!! ![[Frown]](frown.gif) . Time to install the stock pully until I get paid and get a 3g alt.. But man, isnt a 1 farad cap supposed to help??

No, caps do nothing but cover up a bad charging system. There worthless unless you get into 20+ farad.

I already have an Optima red top.. Lol.. I think if I reinstall the stock alt pully it wud help it alot bcuz right now with the car running, when there is a really low bass line my voltage meter goes down to like 10 volts smh..

I've got a good 3G alt I'll sell you cheap and I'm local. They are fairly easy to install and make a huge difference. I picked this up for a friend of mine and he flaked so I've been sitting on it for a while.

This exact same shit happened to me. The capacitors take up more energy and make ur alternator work even harder. Ithought they were sposed to help but they don't and that's on top of havin an underdrive pulley on ur alt. Ended up gettin a 140 amp alternator and hasn't killed my battery since.

Yeah never install the under drive alt pulley. When you get a 3g alt go ahead and put the smaller foxbody pulley on it. That's what I always do. You'll get more amps at idle.

thats cheap...mine was 170 from autozone. and that was the cheapest they had

I wouldnt bother with that low amperage (65 amp), fire catchin, piece of alternator that came stock. Upgrade to the 3G and get some charging at idle.
