Stock to stock, speed density is faster than a mass air car.

Speed density cars don't have a MAF, so they're lighter.

SD cars make about 10hp more compared to a stock MAF car.
I lost a few mph in trap speed when I converted mine from SD to MAF back with the old stock motor with just bolt-ons.

I always tell people if you not going to put a cam, or bigger injectors, or a blower there is no need to change over to mass air.

SD are a tad quicker (stock vs stock). I believe the main reason is party mechanical and partly due the eec. MAF has that restriction in the middle of the MAF to sample the incoming air...plus it is a straight shot to the upper intake in a stock SD setup. That has to account for something.
As far as the eec I think the SD cars run a tad leaner and that helps just a bit.
The big deal is that for a modded car..one of the first mods is to convert to MAF:)! SD cars do not do well with big modifications... [ May 12, 2011, 04:27 PM: Message edited by: CobramanPhil ]
