Doesn't matter just drive it I don't believe in any break In period for anythin. Except piston rings cams valvtrain and clutches. U don't need to change the fluid after a few hundred miles either if the gears were set up in spec there shouldn't be any excessive wear to constitute changing it

Break in period is like 10k miles, just change the fluid like 17 times spray down the clutch basket with chicken grease and then post your tech questions in the right section. Because this is the bullshitters area and none of us know how to work on mustangs over here. All we know how to do is talk crap and sideshow. [Razz]

I know what u mean. I installed gears at my old job and always had people ask me about break in. I just told them go give them Hell. I've never had anyone ruin their gears.

Actually everyone has been honest. But why would it matter whether I post up in general talk or tech talk. Its not like I asked how to install gears. Its about what people think about breaking in gears or not. Besides posting in tech talk would be the same thing some peopley are going to say no break in period or some would say yes there is a break in period.

These car's are made to take abuse! I figure if something break's then I need to upgrade it to keep pulling to redline! Put in My 373's in 1996 and have been testing them ever since [burnout] . If properly installed there will be a bunch of part's that will give way before You ever have a problem with the gear's, no matter which way You break em in. On a side note if there is going to be a problem You might as well expose it ASAP so You can bring it rite back to the person that installed them!

Yea. That's a good question. I'm guessing 373 so I can get good highway out of it. Its going to be my daily for a couple more months. 410s is up in the air. But its a street car. Idk about 410s I'd run out of gear if someone pulls up next to me on the highway. I will have full bolt ons. And stage two heads and cams will be installed hopefully by next next tuesday soon. So what's a good gear ratio for my set up

Gear chart.

3.27 good for noobs that are not interested in performance. Or have turbo.

3.55 good for girls mustangs. Also good for skiddish men that lack testosterone. If u have a stock 50 engine maybe these are good for you.*

* opinion on these gears will soon change to " man I wish I went with 3.73 instead.

3.73 great if u make power under 5400 rpm. All around gear great for someone who thinks that 4.10 is the monster under the bed.

4.10+ now this means business. If u are not afraid to go balls to the wall step right up. Freeway runs will not matter if u leave the next looser by 3 cars on the third honk.
