As some of you guys know I coach basketball and run basketball camps for kids. I just had to tell around 35 of my kids that their program could be drying and going away. Due to budget cuts they are considering closing all parks and recreation centers, programs and offices. But WE can possibly do something about it. One is very simple but may not save things in time. Fill out and return your census papers. The other may require you to show up to a townhall meeting or fill out a petition. If you catch wind of this initiative from another source I urge you to fill any petitions our attend the townhall or anything. I know in a time of crisis things have to go. It is a fact of life. But our children should be the last ones to feel the bite. You may say so? What does that have to do with me? A lot actually. These programs enrich these kids, give them something to do after school. I know some parents use me as day care. But long as the kids are learning and having fun I have no issues with it. But like they say idle fingers are the devils workshop. These kids can either be the leaders of tomorrow or the criminals of tomorrow. And in some cases these programs are the divider of the 2.
I plan on meeting with the City Planner and higher if possible to see if there is anything that can be done or if the decision is finite.

Maybe if I mention Obama this will get some coverage...lol. jk. No response required but I wanted to bump this so folks will at least read it and know.
