i was told that if a seller sales his car that he is responsible to obtain the smog certificate, is that true? ive bought many car's that i needed to smog, i was just curious because i have a buyer interested in my mustang, i want to sale it as is with longtubes and no cats, can i get in trouble for selling the car with out a smog even if i made a bill of sale stating the new owner agreed to obtain the smog certificate? You ARE responsible for smog, no way around it. Now if the buyer is going to be an ass and rat you out. That is another question

i thought a separate bill of sales stating the new owner knows about the non smoged transpher reguardless of any law would hold up in court?????
