I got about 13k out of my last set with moderate driving which were Kumho Ecsta's. I should have stepped up to a better tire at that time.
I do not drive at the track, just commute. I am looking for a good tire, decent price. The tire shop recommended: BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT, reviews say the KDW's are a noisy tire though.

I just picked up a set of Michelin Pilot Sports. BEST TIRE YET. A friend got the BFG's but I don't like the tread pattern at all so I went with the pilots!

I have had the BFG KDW's, with the New Tread, for awhile now.. and I LOVE them... you can also get them in the classic tread too. Tire Rack has pics of both online.

I'll look into the Michelin's as they have been known for superior quality. So far the best price on the KDW's is $1,050 mount balance and tax out the door.
I have one more hook up for price shopping when I narrow it down unless somebody can do better in the Sac area?

don't get me wrong, if you're looking for "cheap/in-expensive" tires, Michelins will be your last choice.

U cant go wrong with the BFG KDW2's....I have gotten nearly 18k out of my current set with spirited driving & there still going...Rears are about to get replaced soon though...they are a tad bit noisy, but the grip & the decent price is well worth it IMO....I like the tread pattern....
Cant speak on the Michelins, but i know they are way too pricey imo....

Don't complain about road noise... you drive a mustang.. these aren't exactly designed on the same NVH levels as BMW's... any noise they may make will be easily drowned out by exhaust

That statement could be true in most cases, but I find it hard to beleive that the Michelin Pilot sport 295/35/18 is worth paying an extra $115 per tire more than the BFG's....The BFG's actually have about the same rating on tire rack & the treadwear is a little better...the only thing the Michelins had a better rating in was noise comfort.....I will stick with my BFG's....

You do that, while I enjoy a superior tire with a better tread pattern
Also, they don't sell the "ugly tread tires" in 315's that I needed anyway
Regardless of which tire you get, you'll be pleased. I read reviews on DOZENS of different sites and spoke with people who own each tire. After all was said and done EVERYONE with the Michelins' were very pleased and said the extra $400 per set was well worth it. Heck, a good friend has the BFG's on his 06. He knows nothing about cars technically speaking and mentioned the noise. I don't mind spending the extra money on anything for my 06 to get the best of the best the first time. A full set of Pilot Sports came on my 95 GT and they were brand new. I got the receipt on these things and they were expensive to say the least..... almost half of what I paid for the entire car! I've had them on my Mystic for a few thousand miles and have to say I'm very impressed with the way they perform. I've had decent luck with the Kumos in the past and hated most of the Goodyears and BFG's.

I'd get Mich's if I could afford them but I do like my BFG's for the price. They hook great, are an awesome rain tire believe it or not and have an agresive look. I'm partial to Mich's though...have never had an issue with them in the past.,
