Soon I'll be visiting my sister. Trip will be 1300-1500 miles round trip.
This will bee as many miles as I put on the car in a year so I'm looking for some quick tips other than the already planned:
TFI Mod Tool box Tire patch & AAA card (no spare) 3 gal. gas can yes w/gas 2 quarts oil
kinda strange thread, but I haven't drivin the car further than Sac. before. Bringing spare fuel filter clips even, since those have popped off before.

mustangs are a very reliable car you shouldn't have a problem. I have taken my 91 sc car on 400 mile trips a bunch of times with no issues. I would not carry a gass can with fuel in it in the car . Does your fuel gauge not work? good luck have fun [ October 17, 2007, 05:34 PM: Message edited by: 2stangs69-91 ]

AAA and emergency tool box with flares and such is a good idea. Gas can in the car...not so good idea. I would go to the JY and grab a spare tho. I drove my 88 to LA once with 152k on the ticker.

how about a rental CAR? trust me it will be worth it, look you can grap a little 4 banger from enterprise or hertz for about $20 a day. Say $30.00 for the day, just think the money you save on glass alone will make it worth it and you don't have to worry about anything!
Just my idea..........

Car went through 3 quarts of oil. I think I'm buring some oil but my average speed was 85 mph. My best tank was 327 miles my worst tank was 276 miles. Whole trip was 1,367 miles and my top speed was 140 mph with a few 120 mph taps and a number of 110 mph's. I went through one jug of coolant only because I forgot to turn on my fan when in town and car overheated and spewed coolant out the cap. Refilled and was good to go. Got one carwash and raced a 427R Supercharged Roush on highway 5. Well it wasn't much of a race but I was all out. I was able to snap one photo of it with my phone. White with blue stripes.
So all in all the car ran like a fuckin champ...no loss of power, no hickups, no flats, lots of rain and no sliding, crashing or tickets.

i used to drive the chico the the bay 400 mile round trip every weekend for awhile, AAA card, cell phone, and a spare. other than that, just make sure your fluids are topped off and your tires in good shape. and listen for any weird noises! good luck, foxbody trips are awesome
