I got approved today to participate in the program. I think it will be a great opportunity and experience for my over all goal of becoming a Peace Officer.

Right on! I've been considering law enforcement for a long time and would love to get some more info once I'm done with college. What exactly do you do on a ride-a-long or is it just as simple as it sounds?

I've been on several.. It's just what it sounds. You go in, sign a few waivers and cruise along. Depending the shift it can be very entertaining or plain boring.. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
all you need to do is stop by your police department and say you are interested in doing a ride along.
If you can go to Foster City, there is not much action there, but they'll take you on the spot. If you are lucky you'll get a younger cop who'll pull people over to entertain you. ![[Razz]](tongue.gif)
San mateo is not bad either, belmont is simple.. i tried san francisco, but never got a call back ![[Frown]](frown.gif)

Me too...I asked the driver to bring me back to the Silver Legacy but instead was taken to some Roach Motel called Detox Suites or something. I didn't even get a issued robe like the rest of the guests. weak sauce.

Just got home from my ride-along. Wow, that shit was amazing! We went on a code-3 call; we made it from Sunrise Mall to Marconi & Walnut in 4minutes! We were going down Sunrise at 100+ and my balls were in my stomache! I know for sure now that law enforcement is where I want to be and will be attending the Sheriff Academy in January!
