I know this may sound stupid but, when you go to the track or these gatherings at the track. Do you have to run your car? I am not a big racing fan although I am beefing my stang up I doubt I will ever race it (I just like the idea that I can go fast if necessary lol ). But I be wanting to attend these functions (especially now since I'll be all painted up). But I really am not into racing my cars. Can you still go and just spectate? Or is it expected if you are there in a stang you must race or cut?

Well not so much like you had to. But is it expected? Liek the ford v gm deal that just passed. I would have love to go but I dont want a bunch of folks asking me to race every 5 minutes. Never really went to the track b4.

You didn't have to race man. You could have just parked the car then got in the stands or whatever and I bet nobody would have bothered you at all.

I went in my mustang and didn't run it all day. Issues with my bottle prevented me from wanting to run. I,...along with other mustangs parked and spectated. NICE mustangs just sat in the lot resting. So don't feel obligated to race if you pull up in a nice stang [patriot]

nah...I haven't gone much but just cause you have a nice car and don't run it doesn't mean your a sucka. Besides there could be a million reasons why someone isn't running their car...they suck at driving, have bottle issues, missing a lug nut [Eek!] or ya just don't feel like it. Next chev vs. ford though I'm running my car,...I didn't see many cars that I would beat out there but having the whole track to just two manufactures the whole day is to good to pass up.

Can someone explain the rules...if you lose you still get to race right? That part I didn't understand. I saw people red lighting it and loseing but still made many many passes. [burnout]

J - At some events they have a "LOSER" lane so once you get eliminated you can run in that lane so you hopefully get your $$.$$'s worth.

By the way sorry to hear/see about the Mounty.

I too have a couple crazy stories from Tahoe this past season.......followed a Suburban down 89 on the west side and literally watched him drive over the cliff at the "water-tank turn"

Had to rescue 7 people including 2 babies ......luckily no one died [Eek!]

Is there a way out of the loser lane? Like if you start winning?

Anyway no worries about the mounty...blessing in desguise really. AAA cashed me out over kbb's top value and over $3k more than my current asking price when trying to sell the damn thing.

Wife and I are looking for one of the following in the $15-$20 K range:
Highlander
MDX
RX300
Pilot
We may have to pass the the MDX (my first choice of the 4) because is calls for 91 octane.

On a side note: Nate if you pull up at the track in this car and don't run it then you are a sucka! This was my favorite car of the day. I don't know if it was the fastest car but that motherfucker RIPPED down the track. I think it hit a 137mph trap on one of the runs I saw.

I remember that day, I was in lane 7 for the stock bracket, and I look in my rear view and of all people john was in his car behind me. then I look again and I see john fixing his hair in his rear view.

I don't know why but I started laughing. I was thinking " shoot if I trap 137mph I better be looking spiffy in my car also" lol
