I am looking for the cheapest way to get a car from North Carolina to California. Any ideas? I have heard there are truck transport companies that will ship a car for around $750-$1,000. Know of any? Contact numbers?
Thanks for any help. [patriot]

Yep, coast to coast is $900-$1000. Look in the yellow pages under 'automobile transporters'. There are tons of companys out there. Call and shop around for the best deal, although they're all pretty much in the same price range. Good luck!

I used Dependable Auto Shippers when I bought my coupe from a guy from New Jersey. It cost me about $1400 to ship it and that price included door-to-door service, enclosed trailer, and an upper position on the trailer. The only thing I complained about was the fact they messed up my shifter alignment, since they did not know how to operate it since it was a ratchet shifter. Other than that, the car was in perfect condition, just the way I saw it in person.

I was just buying out of state cars for my lst job it all matters about the city. When looking for one ask if there is a port you can pick it up at saves lots of $. Also $900 is super cheap for that far.

I got a price for $940 today. That was if I drop it off at the port and then pick it up here. It might work out great because the company has a pickup station there and here that are really close by. I guess that you cannot put anything inside of the car....that you have to pay overage charges for it? I will have to call back tommorow and find out more.
My biggest problem right now is that I have 5-37" tires mounted on wheels that I need to have go with the jeep, and the transport companies will not take them with the jeep. I called fed ex and they want $700. No way Im doing that. Any other suggestions? I am going to try old dominion tommorow.
Thanks for the help [patriot]

Hopefully that 5.0 is supercharged !
My 7.3L diesel is going to have a fun time towing this thing. I am guessing its going to be a heavy bitch [Wink]
Extra parts in the back, 5 extra tires mounted on steel wheels.
On a good note- I found a trucking company that will haul everything for $1,100. Although I am still awaiting on dimensions from the current owner to see if it will fit in a semi truck trailer.

Damn, sounds like a big jeep. I just got a new job today, and would not be able to do it anyways. I did that for a guy in NM once though. Im in Ohio, so its a strait shot down to NC. I dont know what the towing capacity is on the bronco, but I pulled a k5 blazer with it on my flat bed.
