Request a Trial by Written Decleration (trial by mail). Either in person or by phone. If they say you can't, don't let them bullshit you. They did to me in court and I had to send a letter to them (Court Supervisor) saying they were wrong for denying my request. I was apologized to and granted my orginal request. I recommend TICKETASSASSINS.COM. Its only $25. It beat me one speeding ticket. [ December 24, 2005, 02:13 AM: Message edited by: Venomized93 ]

ticketassassin.com. I won my case in SF and all I wrote in the letter was "I'm not guilty". The SFPD are severely understaffed and do not have the time to respond to written trials. You should win no problem.

I don't know about S.F. But most cops don't even reply to the write in decleration. It's a personal protest about not getting to go to court for easy O.T., and it's more paperwork.

I just got my first ticket for transporting passengers with a provisional license and using a center turn lane for passing.. Cop was pretty cool, he could have got me for alot more.

the cop was implying that if you do go to court, he probably won't be there so the case will be dropped. so you have a couple of options to get out of this one.
