Hey whats up guys sorry if this is a REPOST but my buddy is thinking about getting a luxury car that has a salvage title I was wondering why people have said to check the quarter panels on salvaged cars and Subframe? The owner told him the reason why it was salvaged was b/c some was backing up and smashed the quarter panel of his car but he got it fixed and they welded on a new quarter panel with no bondo,Should he still run a carfax on it even though he knows it has a salvage title? What should he go look for when he checks this car out,What do you check the quater panel for?lmk any help would be great

if you get into a accident and the insurance declares it total the valvue of the repair is more that the cost of the car. check the subframe to make sure its not fukked up and straight. carfax will know that the car is salvage title if they report it to the insurance company but if they dont report it and pay out of pocket, it wont show that its salvage.

if they used bondo just get a magnet and place it on the fender and see if it will stay, if it falls that used hella of a lot of bondo, you can try and take the inner panels from the trunk and see

Also look underneath the car to see how the rails looking and lift up the trunk mat to see how the trunk floor looks. He should only pay about 50% - 70% of the price of a comparable vehicle without a salvage title. If it was repaired properly. If not walk away.

Always get carfax even if you know its salvaged,...you'll want to know more of the history too, if it's stollen or whatever. Carfax is awesome and worth the peice of mind if you ask me.
