Well, car consists of a 306, Crane 2031 cam, Edlebrock 6025 heads, Trick Flow "Street Heat" intake, 1.72 RR's, 70mm TB, 24 pound injectors with Pro M 75mm mass air, JBA headers, Bassani high flow catted X pipe, Flowmaster 2 1/2 cat back with 3 chambers.
AOD
Car went in with my garage tune and put down 249.32HP at the wheels and 262.49TQ and a AFR of 11.72 (rich) which isn't bad at all considering the power the AOD soaks up. I believe stock AOD cars put down 180ish.
Tossed on a chip and messed with it, resulting in a VERY SAFE tune with 91 octane and an AFR of 12.51. Power was 270.28 and torque climbed to 284.66.
Car is completely smog legal AS IS and just passed the sniffer last month.
We'll see what times it turns tomorrow at the track on street tires. It's a convertable and I will not put in a cage so slicks are not an option. [ November 26, 2005, 10:40 PM: Message edited by: hidnn.o.s. ]

If I were to swap in a 5 speed AND DO NOTHING ELSE it would be 300+, But it's a daily driver so I kept the cats on, AC on, and kept it an AOD. As you can see I can lean it out some more by the AFR for a bit more HP, but due to time we were happy with the current numbers for now. It will be back on the rollers. I am EXTREMELY happy with the car currently. I have a car that I never have to worry about tossing cats on/off for smog, have AC, a nice stereo with sub/amp in the trunk, not to mention the car being a heavy ass convertable. I kept the AOD because I have had a couple back surgeries and didn't want to deal with shifting a hard clutch every day in traffic etc. Car obliterates first/second gear (if I want to) and with the tranny barks each gear. Trans is good to 450HP so it "should" last many years to come.
I feel like a kid with a whole new toy thanks to Brad and RPM

*If* you believe the classic rule of 15% loss thru a T5 and 20% loss thru an AOD, you would not see 300rwhp with a T5. Acording to that, you are making 337.5 flywheel hp. If you remove 15% from that flywheel figure, you are closer to 287rwhp imho.
This is of course an estimation based on the 15/20 T5/aod which has some +/- error associated with it as well. [ November 26, 2005, 09:17 PM: Message edited by: Luke87GT ]

I got 280/280 with the E cam and afr 185's and Holley intake so those #'s seem rite on to me . I will say You will run a 13.5 @ 104 with a 2.1 60 ft. Good luck out there, I am jelous as I was planning on rolling out there tomorrow but the car decided it does'nt want to go.

Thanks Smokin! I wish I had your heads/intake!
LUKE, an AOD cost A LOT more of a loss over a T5 than 5% difference. [ November 26, 2005, 09:37 PM: Message edited by: hidnn.o.s. ]

I suggest you call them at (707) 584-8230, ask for Brad (owner) say that you know Don, from this site, talking about his Mustang being tuned and that I suggested you call them and find out what they can do for you. Brad is a friend of mine and I'll be talking to him about some kind of hookup of sorts for members from this site!

Well, with my old heads/intake and no tune I went 14.2 @ 98.
Today I went 13.4 @ 103.6 on street tires!!!
Only got two runs, on my third I was on the brakes and missed my dial. First run was 13.7 @ 103.2. TRACK WAS GREAT FOR ME TODAY!
Car ran GREAT with no detonation and pulled through each gear to 6k no problem.
RPM'S TUNE
Highly recommended
