Do you have to pay for the fuel out of your own pocket

Just out of curiosity as well .....i just found out a co-worker of mine's husband is a truck driver that does trips as far out as Ohio and Missouri.
She was telling me he makes around $8,000 round trip and that it takes about a week to do so.
Is that how much you can make drivin big rigs?

Well my buddy works as an owner operator with Fedex Ground, he makes about 6k on average per week doing the longhaul runs, he spends about $1200 a week on fuel/insurance and another $1000 a week to the co-driver, the rest is his pay.
As a driver only you won't make that kind of money, have to be an owner operator. I get .30 cents per mile plus bonuses and docking pay. So I bring in about $800-$1000 a week right now, which isn't too shabby.

Plenty of $$ to be made out on the highways!
Your pay is not to shabby at all
Good luck and be safe out there

I can legally drive for 11 hours a day and work a total of 14 a day, up until I hit 70 hours for teh week then I must take 34 hours off from work before I can start again.
I work anywhere from 9-14 hours a day.
