live in san jose and im trying to get my car dynoed cuz the last guy that "tuned" it didnt do so good. Anyways i ended up getting a wideband o2 sensor and gauge and tuned it my damned self, the carb and timing was WAY off. Timing was at 22* total (instead of 30*) and the jets were dangerously lean on the primaries, and now i want to dyno my car. Not only to see how much power she puts down, but to see what my shift points should be. The original "tuner" guy stopped it at 5600rpm though i dont know why???maybe he thought big blocks cant rev???

Couple of things:
i tried calling Synergy Motorsports because of the recommendations on LS1tech.com and they said they wont let me put the car on the dyno because they only use it for their own tuning purposes (understandable i guess) and they told me to try a shop in hayward.
id take it to GOODIES but thats where i originally had mine "tuned" but a bigger reason why i dont want to take it there is cuz they use a dynapack and i want to use a dynojet to compare it to others without thinking in the back of my mind that they read HP much differently if you get what im sayin!
i tried TPS Motorsports and i guess theyre getting a new dyno so they wont be able to for at least a couple of weeks
called Newtech way out in hayward, they seem nice. MAYBE ill take my car there tomorrow. If anybody can suggest anywhere closer i would appreciate it, even if its one of the lil import shops. Although i remember going to an import shop to inquire about how much to dyno my audi, i just said "im going to need to dyno my car and just wondering how much you guys charge" and the reply from the asian dude was "we dont dyno domestics" like WTF??? i didnt even go in my galaxie i went in my audi but he hadnt seen it, but still not cool!
anyways, anybody got any other suggestions?/

If you just need a dyno and not a tuner then Mustang Ranch in SJ has one.
AED "had" one in SJ but I think they shut it down.

call mustang ranch, I talked to Michael an older guy from there & he told me you can set an appt. to have it dyno & tune at the same time, but only with appts because I guess the tuner goes from shop to shop
worth a try [ May 27, 2010, 07:44 PM: Message edited by: dubfive-0 ]

Z Car Garage - just north of downtown. Check with Rob to see if he'll dyno other makes. They have wideband O2. Has good fans for cooling. External big screen makes it easy to do runs.
Dyno Spot Racing - just south of downtown. Will take any make (at least they did when I used them). Believe they have wideband O2. Could use better fans for cooling but that was some time ago.
I don't care for the guy that works out of Goodies. We had a 1pm appt to break in and setup my friends new motor. They guy finally showed up at 3pm. We didn't do all the things we had planned. [ May 28, 2010, 11:44 AM: Message edited by: SteveL ]
