Ran the full track CCW config with Speedventures.com last weekend and had a blast.

Went out with my buddy Christian in his Coyote powered beast of an `86 coupe with the full MM track pack under it.

This CTS-V was annoying to follow, dude had "556hp" and tons of mods, matte black paint and toyo tires sponsorship stickers all over. Completely ditched me on the straights but I would stack up on him and have to putt through the corners until he gave me a point by.

Just passed him right before this corner on the uphill with a point by, wish the photog caught that, I would have bought a huge wall print for my office, haha.

yeah I gotta decide which pic I want to buy a print of!

This was streets, the shorter 'test track' that lots of magazines use, it's a ~1:30 lap track for most 'fast' cars. Big willow (same location) is a big high speed track. I only got up to ~100mph on the 2 straights at streets, my buddies coupe hit ~110mph though!

Here's some more pics of his coupe-

This was through www.speedventures.com

They charge $130 for streets of willow days. I also used 1/4 tank of gas each session...about 2 1/4 tanks of gas including the 100 mile drive from my house both ways. I would bet on it being a $300 day?

I saw your friends post about understeer over on c-c.com. To me it looks like the car is way under sprung, especially in the rear. Does he have staggered tire sizes?

Luke... You should join me at some of our local trackdays! I really don't know what you've been waiting for!

I know he's running 275's up front but I'm not sure about in the rear.

He has 325lb c/o springs in the front, on bilstein HD's.

He tracked the car on the same tires before the coyote swap and didn't have this problem, He's pretty convinced that his front swaybar being mounted ~4.5" lower than stock and not having any spacers between the bushings on the endlinks is what is effecting the front grip. I suggested he try a 4 cyl front swaybar which is a lot smaller than his current v8 bar to try to throw some more grip up front.

His car has a lot less body roll in the pics than mine, but in this picture -

The car looks all crossed up to me

I'm pretty sure this is my car at the same spot of that corner -

I was full of excuses before too...just gotta go and try it then you'll know why people say its addicting!

I usually run with NASA and its usually $179 each event. But there are other local clubs to do trackdays with for cheaper and some for more. Www.ncracing.org (ncrc) is probably one of the cheapest. PM me if you're serious about coming out!

Sorry to jack the thread Blind! [patriot]

I agree that the sway bar setup looks odd and may be a major factor in his understeer. Both cars appear under sprung. It's a give and take thing with street/track cars. I struggled with it for awhile until I decided I wanted to go as fast as possible on the track and that meant the car was no longer enjoyable or legal on the street.

Mine is definitely undersprung, I just have H&R Race for IRS springs on it.

However I have no understeer at all, it just goes where I point it...totally different than the way his felt (from the passenger seat at least).

I saw some tv show where West Coast Customs built him a flat black cts-v. From the location and him not letting people pass, maybe it was.
