If anyone is interested, there are still spots available for the Duel at De Anza on May 15. Unlike past years, this year they are accepting preregistration only, THERE WILL BE NO SIGN UPS THE DAY OF THE EVENT.
Cost is $20, and it is held at DeAnza College in Cupertino.
You only get one run, but its still a fun event.

If you would like to go send an Email toDennis Hale at: dhale_510@yahoo.com and ask him for an entry form and give him your address to mail it out to you.

(as of April 25 there were only about 100 entries, but sign up quick if you are interested)

Everyone's invited, you just have to preregister.

Yes, it's an autoX, $20 may be a lot for one run, but remember, this is a fundraiser for the Auto Tech Department.... and 1 run is kinda traditional for this event. And it adds a little difficulty when trying to win a trophy.... How hard to you push it? too hard and hit a cone or screw up a corner and you'll probably lose, don't push hard enough and again you'll probably lose....
But yeah, you can run the American AutoX Series event same day and get 5 runs for $35 (I'll be there running Saturday the 14th) but you have to drive to Atwater.... [Smile]

so it's no longer by invite only?

It never really was.... they only sent flyers to people that entered that last event in 2003 because that was the only mailing list provided by De Anza AutoTech.... All they are really trying to accomplish is the change to preregistration so there is no more all night long line (apperantly the school officials didn't like people spending most of the night in the parking lot, so that was one of hte consessions to bring the event back).
So calling it an "invitational" probably wasn't the best choice of wording..... like I said everyone's invited, you just need to preregister [Big Grin] .

(sorry for the slow reply, just got back in town... plus I don't have internet at home anyway....)
