ran the car for 30 mins, got gas, pulled over for 10 min up hill for a phone call, started backup, drove 10 feet. died out...


So far: swapped out coil and ignition control module

checked inertia switch

have spark.fuel pump whines up, checked fuel at schrader valve. fuel is present.

car has 30k on it. drive it about 100 miles a month. any ideas.

Any error codes from the computer? Does it crank for ever with out starting, or start and sputter then die?

Cranks forever does not start
Giving a code 95
Checked inertia switch .. one side 6.3v other wire 0v

Check the ignition switch on the column. It looks like this

The plastic and cast parts start to separate and can cause your issue.

it was the distributor, swapped it out of my other car. started right up.

i cant get my timing right. cylinder #1 compression stroke TDC. rotor under cap #1. pull spout, adjust timing, put spout back . timing moves. idles good , but all over the place when gasing it..

is it possible that im a tooth off when i install the distributor.

Timing moves around once you install the spout
