Was wondering if the threads on a brake caliper that holds the brake line onto the caliper can be fixed .. If so how I was thinking of helacoil or maybe trying to re tap but idk. This is a cobra caliper and I want to fix it before trying to hunt down another single cobra brake caliper.. Thanks in advance CAFords any input is appreciated . Daniel

Probably not a good idea to repair it. If you were to attempt a repair, I would use a permanent locking adhesive. It's your brakes. Don't screw with them.

All the calipers are the same. Just the bracket is different.

try and run a thread chaser first. if too damaged, either tap or install a time-sert. helicoil isn't a good idea. seen many pull out.

You could try a thread chaser to see if you can clean up the threads. It doesn't hurt to try it before spending money.

I wouldn't helicoil it though. Granted it might work, but i've convinced myself to only use helicoil on non-important parts. For example, my 67 has a helicoil installed in one of its carburetor mounting locations on the intake manifold.
