I have some 185 afr heads and the block will be bore to a 306 just wondering if the E cam will be a good fit

Are you worried about smog ? That's the only smog legal cam but you can get better power out of something else

I would get a better cam

Back in the dAy I ran this combo with a systemax & got high 280's on the dyno through a stock aod so figure low 300's with 5 speed. If the cam is already installed then it's not the worst cam ever produced, but if You are putting it together then do a custom.

Go custom and never look back, E cam is something i would throw in the garbage.

I agree go custom that cam does suck. Just my opinion and my dyno agrees.

I'm making 540 hp to the wheels with an E-cam with AFR 185's in a 347 stroker with a blower. Definitely don't recommend it for power, I used it for smog purposes, but like said already, it's not the worst cam out there.

He didnt say theyre carb legal, he said it passes smog.. Which it does because my 91 vert has passed star smog with a tfs-1 cam.. They asked what cam and I simply said its the E303 cam.

Its not like theyre gonna take apart your motor to pull out the cam and make sure its an E303 cam.. It passed the sniffer and he left it at that..

@ 220 498 on 110 LS is basically a stock cam and i would think could pass any smog test. A marginal cam at best for pressure on a street driven car but one i would not recommend. But living in CAL does present a problem with the smog idiots. So as they say you have to make due with the circumstances. A custom grind would be much better in my view. I dynowed a 347 with an E cam with 10-1 squeeze on pump at 301 HP with a MUSTANG. Not very impressive by any means. But good for a FORD small engine that lacks head flow. 185 heads are great units for a street driven car but really perform better with a more aggressive cam./ Good luck.

i just know they pass with out any problem, u dont even have to say it has a cam, it doesnt have a rough idle at all. and they run much better than the e cam.
