So I got a fully built 347 non tuned. I saving up some money for my sct chip but do I need a a9l ? Someone told me they're the only ones that can be tuned. I got a stock 88 computer

As long as the ECM has a mass air flow transfer function table, it can be tuned.

Most tuners like A9L computers, they are easier to tune, I got my C3W, 93 automatic computer, to tune my coupe into the 9s, I would call your tuner to see if he doesn't mind tuning the computer you have now.

Most likely your tuner has the proper libraries and code for a A9L. These libraries are different between computers. The library is just a definition file for the code which is needed to burn to EEPROM (Chip).
