Put the battery in the trunk, tie the ground wire to the quad shock bracket.

Tie the positive to the switch, Tie the alternator wire to the positive on the switch also. Make sure to link a fuse in there.

Then run a ground wire to the ground on the starter solenoid, since the solenoid is located on our starters.

Almost positive thats what i'm reading.

Exactly right. Make sure you use GOOD QUALITY wire, preferably welding cable, for both your power and ground. Don't go cheap.

The alternator wire will be the light grey (twin) wire that bolts to your fuse box in the engine bay.

ok and do i take that one out and hook it to the wire running to the back to the switch?

That's correct. Then from the switch at the rear back up to the forward fusebox.

1 wire from starter to fuse to battery
battery to switch
1 wire from alternator to switch
right?

That diagram is incorrect. The point of a cut off switch is to shut everything off; in that diagram, the car will still run via the alternator.

Use the first diagram you posted.

For sanctioned racing? No. Key has to be fixed/attached.

For function? Yup
