One pro is good drivability

I was thinking of running my tubular with a ported lower and some aluminum heads (afr or some tf170s) and a stock cam but I would retard it 4 degrees to move the powerband closer to the range of the heads*
the setup i described should be good for 300rwhp if the tune is dialed

Go for it. I love this setup. LOS went 10s/11s with this.........

roller rockers, less friction, cooler oil temps, smoother operation. I'd say it's worth it.
