Spongy or not put about .020 preload on them

is that with a feeler gauge?

i have been doing a 1/2 turn preload after zero lash with both lifters down on compression stroke then tighten the locks

I adjust then differently but yes use a wire gauge feeler gauge and check for .020 tho lifter preload. You can get away with up to .060 preload with some setups FYI

are you loading them up with oil ?

1/4" drive on the oil pump ? run em so they are tight ? then adjust rockers ?

i took out the 3 bad lifters and soaked them over night and they were still soft and i even tryed pumping them up submerged in oil

so i just found 3 lifters from my backyard and ima soak those tonight and put em on tomarow morning
