It's a boosted 95 mustang after I got on it today I noticed at the light that it was making a rattling noise comming from the the intake manifold. It still runs strong And doesn't idle funny at all. What suggestions or opionans do you have.
Sounds like a exhaust leak in the intake manifold
Oil pressure
Idles fine
Runs strong
No misfires
"only at idle"
Goes away after revving the motor then rattlling exhaust leak type of noise at idle

Does it make a metal on metal rattling sound?

Hard to tell can be.. I touched the valve cover and don't feel anything there. Get my ear closer to the manifold and its loud at the intake manifold. And literally sounds like a exhaust leak

You going to have to record the noise an post it up anything else is going to be a big ass guess

+1 but I've heard this before and it's most likely intake back fire. Could be chased by a bent pushrods or a collapsed lifter.
My buddy foxx5.0 had the same issue and it does sound like a tick and doesn't make any particular noise it's just this wierd tick/popping noise in the intake

It's got a aeromotive 340 in tank with 42lb injectors and adjustable reg

Do you still have the EGR tube hooked up on the RH header?...My old 94 leaked there pretty bad....

Could just be a weak lifter, and when you rev it it gets pumped up and quiets down. If you think its an intake gasket leak, spray the manifold with brake cleaner around the gasket and see if idle changes

Problem solved thanks for the input. Had to do with the lower intake manifold.
