Okay so I've got a new problem that recently arose. When I pull my headlight switch to turn on the headlights, only the headlights come on, the parking lights and tail lights are off. My turn signals, brake, and hazzard lights all work though.

I assumed it was the headlight switch, so I bought a new one and when unplugging the connector I seen that it (the connector) was burnt and melted. So I replaced the connector & headlight switch.

Even with the new connector and new headlight switch I was still having the same problem! So I checked all my fuses and they are all good.

Anyone have any insight? Could this be caused by the ignition switch? I'm at a loss.

Thanks

Oh, car is a 1995 Mustang, 3.8L, 5 Speed.

Check your wiring diagram. You'll see that the wiring goes through the multi-function (turn signal) switch. That would be my next item to check/replace.

Okay so I was following the test procedures in the shop manual, then it came to the point where I had to check Fuse #5. I had already checked all the fuses in the car previously, but upon looking at the fuse locations and the actual fuse block, I noticed....Fuse #5 wan't even there!

Put a 15amp fuse in, problem solved. Only cost me $45 for a new connector (old was melted, needed anyway), a new headlight switch, and a test light.
