i want to get 4.10s with the speedo fixed, but anybody know of a good, reputable shop that charges reasonably in the bay area? Some folks on mustangworld.com say they've paid anywhere between $200-350 for PARTS AND LABOR. if the price is right for parts, labor, and to get the speedo fixed, let me know. it's an 2002 auto GT. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

also is there a goood and reputable transmission shop that charges reasonably as well? my 93 fox has a leaking transmission. it leaks i believe from where the drive-shaft meets the transmission. it's got an orange ring at the end of the tranny.

Not sure about mustangworld, but I have been looking recently to get a rearend gear swap and your looking at $500-$600 for a job. I didnt check on the price to get the gear fix, but I cant imagine it being much more. Two places I looked into that were the better prices were Apex Motorsports and Rearend Specialties.

I have had work done at both places.

Valley Differential in Stockton. It's a bit of a drive for you but well worth it. It is, by far, the best place to have ANY rear end work done. You won't regret it.

I don't know if John B is still in cali, but if you were to get the parts, he can do it for you at a very good price.

yeah, i've had work done on my car at apex: sub-frames, shocks & struts, springs, and torque boxes. apex is the only place i know of so far that does gears, but from what people are telling me, they charge alot and i dont even know if thats with parts and labor. 3.73s are $499 and 4.10s i believe are $549? or $599???

for glenn, do you know what shop this guy, John B, was working at and where its located?

for quick 88lx, thanks for the referral. i'll definitely give em a call.
