I am going to be doing the MAF conversion on my 86 and was wondering if I could use a MAf from a 01 GT? I have the MAF and harness already, just wondering if it is possible use that instead of a stock 5.0 MAF? Thanks.

i think they are diffent the newer style plug is rectangle.older style is a oval. i think its thunder bolt motorsports that sells a adapter harness to convert it from the oval to rectangle.

No, use the MAF from the stock 5.0. I don't think the 5.0 computer will like that late model MAF

Alright. I was just hoping snice I already had it, and I had seen the lightning MAF used in fox's and thought it would be possible, which I guess it could be with tuning.

L mafs must be calibrated in the tune not with tubes like C&L pieces and dont come already calibrated.

I know that, that is what I was trying to say. I guess I could use it if it was done through a tune, but the car is stock so I dont want to go to all that trouble yet.
