anyone have an educated guess as to how much i'm gonna end up spending to have my heads redone and mildly ported (gt-40 aluminums) and my block machined? (for 331 stroker)

$800 Hundred is a smokin deal(have fun finding that deal). I would say between $2000 and $3000 for shortblock and heads.

I found shop that'll take care of the block (stroke it to 331 magnaflux etc...) and check and reset my heads plus mildly port them for 800$ sounds like a good deal yes?

Try Rob's auto machine in Hayward. Great prices and they know 5 liters very well. They've built 3 motors for me so far.
