I'm running an Eaton pumpkin and am just wondering if it's the same kind of recommended fluid as the stock? What kind of traction modifier do you guys like? what about brand gear oil? let me know. thx.

Eaton strongly recommends utilizing an API-GL5 approved Mineral-Based 80W-90 Axle Lubricant and one 4-oz bottle of Limited Slip Additive (GM or Ford).

I like redline light shockproof for street setup diffs and heavy shockproof for racing setups or other extreme service like rock crawlers. The shockproof part keeps the film strength super high even under shock loading (launching, sudden traction loss, etc..) so you don't get metal to metal contact. It also sheds heat faster than conventional oil from my observations on my diffs.

I've always used it without friction modifier (it says you can do so on the label IIRC).

I don't trust any other gear lube for differential work. Only redline has impressed me.
