If I remember correctly, some early 95's had eec-4 modules instead of the eec-5 that the later trucks have. I think there was a mid-year split. The data link connector under the dash will not work (no codes, no communication) on that model. Check to see if there is a self test connection under the hood near the left hood hinge. If there is, use that to test the system.

WELL I JUST LOOKED THERE THE ONLY THING THERE WAS THE IDM INJECTER DRIVE MODULE . THIS TRUCK IS A EARLY 95 MODEL 5-95. I LOOKED ALL OVER AND CAN'T SEE WHERE THE PCM IS AT..

5/95 isn't an early model. Don't worry about looking for the PCM yet, just the test connector. The PCM is below the connector, with just the 104 pin connector in the engine compartment.

If there isn't a self test connector near the left (driver) side hood hinge, then it is an eec-5 pcm and the test connector inside the truck should work. If it still doesn't, make sure that all of the wires are seated in the data link connector, and make sure that fuse #16 in the fuse panel is ok.

I CHECKED # 16 FUSE..IT IS GOOD. WHEN THE SHOP TESTED THE TRUCK THEY COULD NOT GET ANY READINGS.THEY TOLD BE THAT THEY USED A 1997 PCM OUT OF ANOTHER POWERSTROKE. THEY DID A PP TST AL2. TESTED TRANS CIRCUIT NEEDS PCM,SHIFT SOLENOID AND TRANS WIRE CONNECTOR FOR SHIFT PACK. THEY WANTED 1200.00 TO FIX. THANKS FOR THE INPUT. GREAT SITE GUYS

So they couldnt self test the PCM that was in your truck, so they installed a known good one out of another and they were able to test your truck at that time? If thats the case you do need a pcm.
