I'm debating between a UPR K-member, HAL (QA1) K-member or Maximum Motorsports K-member. Which is the lightest and best? Also is there any other brand to consider?

Maximum Motorsports is the cheapest (100), QA1 is about 210.

Where can you find a Maximum K for $100? If so I'll take 5. They usually go for $649. So if you can get a MM K for $100 take it.

Yeah, maximum motorsports are the best , but they're definately not 100 bucks.
edit: your probably mistaking their k member BRACE for a k member.

Maximum Motorsports is all I buy, great products and customer service, fast shipping, way better than any other company I have dealt with, if you can't tell.

my QA1 is working great so far with 10k hard every day driving miles and many other suspension upgrades.

the MM is the only one i'd trust on a street car, but it is not much lighter than stock. it does help with the front steering geometry though

Oh, don't be cheap, get a-arms too. They make a difference.

woops, I was looking at the braces. Anyone recommend a good place to buy MM k-members or QA1s?

AJE is one of the better ones, next to maximim motorsports, better than the PA

AJE may be better than paracing, but paracing is the only place I know of that will allow the cutstomer to specify the use of chrome moly tubing instead of rolled/mild steel.

AJE will also powdercoat your k member and a arms what ever color you want at no extra charge [Razz]

So I can get my kmember powdercoated the color of my car for no charge? That is a hell of a deal. The best I have seen is silver, black, red for no charge.

I have a griggs k and a-arm tubular setup and it is way lighter then stock. They are pricey as well too.

My mistake, what ever color you want out of their selection of colors [Wink]

Ive had my griggs k member in my 5.0 for 3 years with no problems. If i had to do it again i would go with the AJE k memeber. Its cheaper and the quality is just as good.

for rear suspension griggs and maximum motorsports are one of the best. I have a griggs torque arm and panhard bar with mm adjustable lower contral arms. The Panhard deletes the upper control arms on my car since it is welded in to the frame. It really depends on what you want but you can't go wrong with mm and griggs.

Yea but griggs is more for street and road course.. which i all ready have installed.. i want a setup more for drag..

I heard the full k member, control arms, and coil overs weigh like 100+ lbs lighter than stock?? is that so?

Posted by racercosmo (Member # 1864) on :

I wouldn't get a chrome moly k member. It may be stiffer, but it will also fatigue sooner than mild steel.

Well with the a-arms and k together it is close to that.

Oh, ok. I saw that this is for an 04. The fox models dont cut that much weight, maybe the newer cars have a lot heavier k members than the foxes [Confused]

Posted by 1Sicgt (Member # 714) on :

It is a big difference. The factory A-arms are freakin tanks on these things.

Posted by 9Roush8 (Member # 2472) on :

which kit is the best bang for your buck... i would like to get a maximum setup to compliment my maximum rear setup but its soo damn expensive.. so my question which one is a good product similar to maximum or griggs but cheaper??

Posted by AJBlackGT (Member # 3936) on :

Everything other than that is pretty much in the same price range aside from AJE. I got a D&D k member, a arms, and coilovers for 569 shipped, so i jumped on the deal and just got the D&D stuff even though its not the top of the line i was satisfied for the price.

Posted by 9Roush8 (Member # 2472) on :

yeah i was kinda thinking, upr, groundpounder, Qa1, or D&D??

Posted by Don (Member # 938) on :

I have QA1 on both my fox and 99 GT. So far so good and lots of room.

Does anyone like Griggs or are they overrated?
