Recently my car has been hitting the rev limiter (6250-6300rpm) while at WOT in drive. I have no shift kit or chip to increase shift firmness. I recently flushed the fluid with Mercon 5. Any idea why it is doing this? Thanks... [patriot]

About 20k on a brand new factory 4r70w. It usually shifts right at 6k everytime but every once in a while it hits the rev limiter, especially after I do a burnout at the track.

I have noticed that mine will sometimes downshift to hit the rev limiter. If im cruising along, lets say about 25mph, then floor it, it downshifts back to 1st just to bounce off the limiter then back to 2nd.

I have about 7k miles on a new tranny too.

[Confused] hmmm

make sure u got the right amount of fluid after u changed it. too much or not enough can cause it to slip...

Tranny is not 100% healthy. When you burnout you are heating everything up inside, then running at WOT results in higher shifts. Nothing more than the tranny being ran hard.
