I have a bbk off road H-pipe no cats and bbk equal length headers on my '88 GT. Would 3 inch pipes all the way back make a big sound difference? Also, is it possible to get a similar sound to the newer GT's? Thanks [Confused] [Confused]

3" pipe may sound a little deaper, but not worth the horse power loss in my opinion....

It kinda hard to make your 5.0 sound like a SOHC 4.6, they're totally different engines...

The best thing to do is compare your car to other Mustangs...You might want to take a listen to cars that have straight through type mufflers like Borla, Magnaflow or Dynomax...

If you can wait, check out our cafords 3rd annual car show and listen to the cars there... [patriot]

You wouldn't "loose horse power" rather than not gain as much...On a stock heads and cam 302 there is really no need for 3" exhaust...

The bigger the exhaust the less back pressure...Too small is restrictive and too big flows too much, you need the best size for your combo..

i've always been told that unless youre making over 500 crank, 3 inch exhaust isnt necessary.

thats what the techs from flowmaster and magnaflow told me when i was doing research for my car.
