I've finally grown tired of an intermittent header leak (changed the gaskets a dozen times) and am looking to replace my BBK shorties.

I'm pretty much stuck staying with shorties due to "smog legality" and making everything else fit (I ran long tubes for about a month and it wasn't worth the effort).

What's out there that would be a good choice? Did anyone ever finally produce a 1 3/4" shortie for 94-95s? Maybe something stepped? I just know I won't go with "individual flanges" ever again. What can I say, I picked those headers in 1995.

Ceramic coating is a must - my ancient BBKs still look fairly new - they just have warped a little too much.

If you decided to go with LT's, I have a brand new set of Mac 1 3/4 LT's with a matching Prochamber for sale for 94/95 cars and its all coated. I'll even give you a good price on installing it if you would like [patriot]

If you're goin to stay with shorties I'd get the FRPP headers...They sell them in Ceramic coating for the 94-95's too..

Unless you're making more than 450hp I wouldn't worry about going bigger than 1 5/8"...

Yep Ford Racing ceramic's are the way to go. Run them with bassani graphite header gaskets and longer bolts with sure loc washers on them. I've never seen this combo leak and that is saying a lot when it comes to aftermarket headers.

well, the car made 430hp at the wheels with 2 rocker arms falling off (long story) so I'm expecting to see at least 450 at the wheels with the car hitting on all 8.

I've always heard good things about the FMS shorties. So where can I pick up the Bassani header gaskets?

And thanks for the input.

Apex have the Bassani gaskets...

Well, I think you're kinda restricting yourself by only wanting shorties...Unless you have a set of custom headers I doubt you'll find a set of shorties bigger than 1 5/8"...

If you insist on shorties then I'd recomend a 3" cat back and maybe a 3" mid pipe...
