finally got this 347 in my mustang and notice that when at WOT theres a strong vibration above 4k rpms. I have the stock clutch in the car and it have about 50k miles.

So what is a good clutch to get without having to spent a lot? I have a RAM 910 disk in my Camaro and it has worked great. Anyone have a certain clutch they perfer? I am not looking for a racing clutch just something thats smooth and can hold 300rwhp

Thanks

does that come with a pressure plate also for $200?

I just looked up some SPEC clutchs and there about $180 stage 1 to $280 for stage 2

I just dont know how those will hold though? I would like to maybe race this car once i a while

I had a centerforce on my 86GT and hated it...I then switched to a King Cobra and loved it...The first clutch I put in my 94GT was a King Cobra, but when that wore out I installed a SPEC stage II...

SPEC II is the best clutch I've ever owned...

i have a king cobra with 1700 miles on it, sell it too you for $50, plenty of life
only getting rid of it because i am switching to a tko, different spline shaft

it was behind a mild 351w, had no problems with slipping running on drag radials

the spec stage 2 would be a great clutch, but mine is only $50 [Razz]

The King Cobra is a great clutch. It will hold 300 RWHP no problem on drag radials or regular street tires. [patriot]

a stock clutch will hold 300 rwhp on street tires too [Razz]

the question becomes how long, probably 20k miles easy

your flywheel may not be the right one for the motor.you got the 347 from jeff s right?is it 28 or 50 oz balance?i cant remember what it is.i know it had a auto flywheel on it.someone may have given you the wrong flywheel.

That 347 was balanced to 50oz I believe as it was using a stock harmonic balancer/flexplate.

Hey I got a 95 GT and I also am looking for a new clutch. $50 bucks for your King Cobra Clutch sounds pretty good cause I am a little short on money these days. And I was actually looking into getting one of those. Will it fit a 302?

i also have a used centerforce "stage 2" clutch that has 8k miles on it, it was behind a stock headed fox body on stock type tires, i think the centerforce was actually a decent clutch, but i new abused it so i wouldnt know how it reacts to a lot of power $40
