Anybody know what might cause the battery light in my 93 Cobra to come on? The alternator is charging (14.5 volts running) and everything seems to be fine.

an alternator can run at 12-14 volts but may only put out so many amps. Hook an amp meter to and see how many amps it is putting out. Hopefully there is a connection loose.

I can check that but I bought a new alternator instead and the light is still on. [Mad]

I kinda have the same problem. My battery light turns on and off at random. Sometimes its on and then just as fast it turns off. I have tried everything, i talked to a tech at my old work and he said that the same thing happened to his car too. He said it was just a loose connection, somewhere. I tested my car and everything checks but for some reason it still comes on. But for me its no harm no foul, when shit starts to get affected i will worry about it

to save some money, I would just go to any kragen, and they can use their little tool and check it for free.

Your alt may be putting out 14vdc, but it may not be suppling the required amperage.
or your battery may be on the fritz...

[patriot] I know that the stock alt for fox's wont do a good job of charging when you start putting more and more of a demand on it (big stereo, power adders, lights...) That's why the 3g alt upgrade is so popular!
