You can get 100 octane at some 76 stations for ~$4.29 a gallon FWIW.

not to hi-jack a thread, but anyone car to guess how much timing can be added by switching from ca. 91 octane to a 100 octane race gas? assuming the tank is 100% of each.

Bob Wirth in Union City sells 104 and 116 for about $5 a gallon. ERC (Engine Research Company) sells many different grades for about $4.xx a gallon. They are in San Lorenzo, near Hayward.

The track USUALLY sells gas at grudge nights but no guarantee.

in san jose at the corner of almaden expressway and foxworthy there is a 76 station that sells 100 for $4.29 a gallon right out the pump.

Kind of odd.... 5.O's have been around for 15+ years in northern california, but there has been no daily driven turbo 5.0. There is probably a good reason why this is so.... I'm sure you'll figure it out soon enough [patriot] PM me when you're daily driving that combo.

Yea i know alamden.. but the only thing.. is getting from there to sac.. their on oppsite sides... sucks.. if i put 100 in friday night. about 8 gallons.. then buy 2 5 gallon jugs and bring that to the track.. that just might be ok... but thats alot of freaking money.. damn.. would anyone know the phone number and addy to erc? Thanks.. i will call sac tomorrow morning to double check if they will be supplying 100..

Posted by Hrly01Stng (Member # 2843) on :

that would be blower... with a switch chip.. so i can have 100.. but mixing will only get me to about 98.5 or so... would be the best way for me to get that 100 to sac.. with out going out of my way to fill it up..

I'm implying that ON N20 should PM me his daily driver success story once he does it [patriot]

if i used to daily drive a stroked 350 to 383 with full ported brodix track 1 heads that flowed over 320cfm, had .720 inches of valve lift, 3500+ stall 4.10 gears...... i think i can take a turbo no problem [Big Grin]

You can try getting on the 76 web site. They have a locator which will allow you to specify race gas and get locations. By the way there is one in Manteca (corner of Airport and Louise) which is on the way if you don't take 80.

Posted by Hrly01Stng (Member # 2843) on :

Hmm really.. i did a search and came up with 28 76 stations and i didnt see one in Manteca... i saw one in i think its fairfield.. but theres no phone number. kinda odd for a big time gas station i think.. I think my best bet since i know its there is to get it the night before.. in san jose off almaden.. But thanks man.. good looking out..

I went to check it out a couple of weeks ago and they had 100 and 110. If you take the 99 route to Sac that you posted elsewhere, take 120 to 99 instead of 4. While on 120 take the Airport Rd exit and go North to Louise. The 76 will be on the right hand corner.

I found that Sunol Gas sells 100 for $4.79/g - located off 680 at Andrade.

I'm near UC - where in UC is Bob? Can I assume he sells by the gallon, takes VISA? Does he also sell 100+ "leaded" by the gallon?

Thanks,
Randy R...

I find it very hard to believe that you know of every single 5 liter in northern ca. I'm sure there have been a few daily driven turbos.....cafords is like 1 percent of the population of 5.0 owners in northern ca.

I sell 100 octane 5 gallon at my work for 38 bucks

Bob Wirth is on Whipple in Hayward on the Union City border. His phone number is (510) 487-3279. His address is 1655 Whipple Road in a business complex. He takes Visa and sells by the gallon. Bring your own cans as he pumps it out of a 55 gallon Sunoco drum. Sunoco is about the most consistent gas you can buy, he uses it to dyno his sprint motors. He sells 104 and 116. I think they are both $5 a gallon plus 8.25% tax.

uhh huh.. wow that saleen turbo seems sweet.. I've heard that turbo cars do make more power but they have more mantanice as well.. dollar per dollar what is better for a stang?? superchager or turbo? or even cheat NOS...

Thanks for all the 100 octane suggestions.. ill stick to my orignal plan for now since i know where it is on alameden.. but ill definaty keep those other places in mind.. Hope to see you guys out at sac.. You can help this 2nd timer get into the 11's and then get thrown out.. by them for not haveing a roll bar [BS flag] [Big Grin]
