Hows your tranny fluid look? Level and color?

i have a tko and a pro50 and have no problems.

Tremec's make noises. Should sound like a garbage truck tranny relative to a T5/T-45.

Being difficult to downshift is normal, howling is a bit normal, etc.

How tolerant are you of noises? Turn the radio up.

Only real things to worry about are grinding, popping out of gear, or inability to engage in a gear.

if it starts smoking through the shifter boot, then roll the windows down and speed up.
if its too loud, get louder mufflers and a better stereo system.
unless you have the power that can take one of these trannys out [Eek!] [worship] [burnout]

An old friend had the same problems and worse with his after only 1000 miles. Had a pro 50 shifter on it and that is why tremec wouldn't warranty it. LESS than 1000 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!

are you more into racing straight or thru the turns?

if you're having trouble engaging gears, sounds like you need to adjust the clutch cable. Did you make the 'pivot' for the clutch/fork/deal in the bellhousing 'tall' enough? Generally speaking they come a little shallow, you may not be getting all the throw you need if you didn't shim it. I went up about 5/8" in my McCleod bellhousing and probably didn't go high enough...

Sounds normal. Mine is hella hard to shift and makes a shitload of noise in fifth. Thats the price we pay for high torque capacities.

If it grinds when going into reverse, youre doing it wrong. First put the car in THIRD, then put it in reverse. It will NEVER grind like that. Let me know how that works out for you. [patriot]

What kind of tranny fluid do you have in the TKO?? My TKO started to get hard to shift after i aded the AMS Oil in it.. Stick with the GM Syncro mesh.. Thats the only Tranny oil that works for it. Good luck.

Good point. Make sure you use the GM Syncromesh. Its 10-11 bucks a qt, luckily you only need 3 qts. [patriot]

Good luck with it, if the problems seem really bad, call them!
