To check for a dead hole start the car and use a pair of rubber handled pliars and pull off one wire at a time from your cap/head coil and see if you notice a change. If you do then their is your dead hole if not look some were else. Hope this helps some.

sounds like the harmonic balancer. see if it looks ok, if not, you shouldnt drive it or you can do serious damage

What can cause the Balancer to be unbalanced??

can timing be off also??

thanks

The two main parts of the balancer are held together by rubber. Rubber dries up and breaks over time causing the balancer to slip or be out of balance. Your problem can be many things though .... and weird vibrations and noises are very hard to trouble shoot over the internet [Frown]

balancers just get old. most go out at about 100k. your timing can possibly be off if you have adjusted it while the balancer is spun. just take a look at it and see if the rubber ring is in one piece and see if it moves by hand. i reason i think its your balancer is because it sounds rpm related
