Clarification: our Saturdays are all booked until 5/31, but we do have lots of Tuesday appointments open.

$125/hr for the tune and dynor $270 for the chip.

Posted by hopdup95 (Member # 2381) on :

I had a friend that got a chip and his computer would realize it was there after like two months and wouldn't run right. Then if he put the stock chip back in the car would go back to normal. If he put the aftermarket chip back in it'd do the same thing all over again. Is this just a freak thing or does it happen quite often???

Either way, I think I can afford the tune, but the chip is a little too much right now. Are you guys just wanting people who will do both or no???

Posted by shade-tree (Member # 298) on :

If there's room I'll go.

edit: no chip needed, just dyno with air/fuel, I don't have a 'bung' welded into my headers if that matters.

(taking side bets on whether I eclipse 300 rwhp [Whoo Whooooo!] )

I think I'll just make an appointment during the week...I don't really want to wait till the end of May

Posted by The Nick (Member # 2244) on :

Ok, so dumb question, but I've never had any time on the rollers before. If its $125/hr, how long is a typical session just for dyno and tune? No need for a chip for me with a speed density car. [Frown]

Posted by st5150 (Member # 51) on :

The Nick- who says you can't chip a speed density car? Shoot byron an email: byron@racesystems.com

Glenn.. I am really down to sign up with you.. I can get a chip for 75..weould it be cheaper for me that way and to have byron reburn it?

can I get a flip chip? need to correct for 4.10's and 180 stat. want to tune it for 91 octane na on one side and for my NX 75 shot(Coming on 4/30/03) on the other side. also has steeda ud pullies and 22c plugs if that makes a difference. approx how much am I lookin at to get it all done with A/F readings? If i can scape up the money I'm in. Ray

If it's an Autologic chip, we can retune it. If it's not a RACE Systems Autologic chip, there's a $50 fee to go over the parameters of the chip and baseline it accordingly. Tuning after that would be $125/hr. with the CAFords discount.

Ray, yes, you can get a Switch Chip. They run $30 more than a regular chip. We'd tune without the nitrous, switch to another chip position, then tune with the nitrous. You'd be billed accordingly at $125/hr. (Air/fuel readings are included.)

for your a/f reading do you use the up the tail pipe sensor or do you plug into one of the o2 senor locations. is the a/f acurate out the tail pipe since I still have my cats? do I need another o2 bung before the cats? thanks ray

We've done a lot of testing of tailpipe vs. O2 bung (on the same car), and they give virtually identical readings, cats or no cats.

Saturday the 31st is scheduled for dyno-tuning only, no regular pulls. We have to maximize Byron's time when he's here!
For regular pulls, I have a few openings left on June 7th. Let me know!

Posted by shade-tree (Member # 298) on :

no I don't need the Byron tune, thanks though. The 7th works for me, any time then.

The chip burning process takes place between dyno pulls. The idea is to tune the car as well as possible, and the dyno pulls are used to see the progress. The amount of time it takes is dependant upon how long it takes to find the right chip "program." The last dyno tune I watched took about an hour.

H/C/I, but I blew a head gasket so I am going to be stepping up to a 306, and my current combo. Where have you been?
