Ford says not to reuse the flywheel to crank shaft bolts because an oil leak could happen.

On 5.O's the threaded holes in the crank don't go all the way through so oil leaks are not a problem. Loc-tite must be used on both the flywheel and pressure plate bolts though. This is a must.

hmm I never used lock tight
just torq then down good
and I never had a problem with any of the ones I have put in

All the manuals I've read list using loc-tite.

I'd definately do this if resusing the same flywheel and bolts since the threads have been "worked" a bit. Also, its not too uncommon for pressure plate bolts to back out a bit over time and reducing clamping or causing uneven clamping.

I guess I just consider it 'cheap insurance'. Same goes for loc-tite on the drive shaft bolts.
