I believe that's cool. I would run a main cap girdle for the hell of it tho.

I was thinkin of the girdle as well but want to find out the limit of the block it's self. Just wanted to use the girdle as extra protection.

600rwhp should be just fine. Make sure the rotating assembly is well balanced and throw a good balancer on it.

nICE TO HEAR IT'S GONNA WORK. MY BALANCER IS A PIONEER HIGH PERFORMANCE ONE. I'VE SEEN SOME BIG HORSEPOWER CARS USE IT.

Here are my 8 items for keeping a stock block together, they apply to a B block as well.

o Avoid detonation

o Use studs on the mains with a girdle

o Premier balance job on the rotating assembly

o Align hone the mains

o Use a non undercut crank if it's a stocker

o Keep RPM down (pulley the blower for maximum boost at under 6500, assuming it's a blower).

o Use a rev limiter that cuts spark, not fuel.

o Don't use solid motor mounts

Aah yes! Very true, but the block didn't crack .......or did it?

John I can take pics of the shattered cylinder wall. I still have to block and often people sit on it while they watch me build theirs

So funny thing is your block is my campaign against stock blocks and then what do I go and do??

Use a well prepped stock block

The R blocks and A-4s are just too pricey for folks like me ..........at this point in life

What seems to be the going rate for the A4 and R blocks? What kind of HP can they hanlde? Thanks in advance, Drew

aN R302 you can get it for $1,600 delivered to your house. It can hold about 800rwhp. An A4 I heard but not positive it's like $3,000. Crazy a$$ prices.
