I am going to buy drag radials and was wondering besides a new clutch, what I needed to be safe?

Unless your clutch is real bad, you don't really need a new one. Just find the sweet spot with the new DR's. What brand are you getting and what size?

I agree with Yellow94GT.

A $25 driveshaft safety loop is always worth while insurance.

I was gonna get 275/40-17 on my stock rims

That is a good choice in size. What brand are you looking at? My nittos have lasted quite a while and I have got down to some hight 1.8 60's with them.
