I would of been there if I checked this sooner. My guess would be 495 RWHP...I think with that S-Trim, you maybe be even over 500...just a guess.

527 rwhp w/ ice was at 6,400 rpms. Byron said to cut it off early cause of the stock internals. Byron said it would easily make 550 rwhp. The car has only 12 degrees of timing. A lot of room for imprivement. Congrats Harold, bout time.
Now its time for some low 11's

Damn. Lots of power.

He better run low 11's, otherwise we're gonna have to let someone else drive.

How much boost is it making and at what rpm? What octane are you using?

Congrats Harold! Some damn good numbers! I havent really been keepin up on your car, whats been done since the last dyno???

I think he was making 12psi at 6,500. He is running pump 91 octane w/ torcco acelerator.

Posted by VortechSaleen (Member # 316) on :

I guess you shot way past your guess...congradulations. I have a few bottles of accelerator (maybe more) that I don't need. Let me know if you want them, I'll bring them along when we install the cooler.

Yaaaahhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
Here are the official numbers:
With no ice:
516.5rwhp 409.6tq > SHUT DOWN AT 6600rpm

With ice:
527.4rwhp 437.5rwtq> SHUT DOWN AT 6400rpm

I'm done! Untill it blows.
Dean> You wont need the Torco? That stuff is working well for me so far.
The current setup is.

Vortech SQ S-trim
GT imepeller
3.33" pulley> sees 14psi at 6400rpm
Return style fuel sytem with sumped tank.
AFM powerpipe
80mm Pro-M
Bassani X and cat back
BBK long tubes
Now its time to go to the track! Hoping for mid to low 11's. We'll see?

Harold, how was your AFR? Also, has Byron found a cure for the Pro-M hunting idle?..or is it still there.

I bought the Torco when CA made the 92 to 91 octane switch just in case I were to ping. After I get this tuned all over again using 91 I'll probably keep a bottle and rest is yours.

Hey dude, congratulations on the numbers, maybe you can take me for a spin in the ride when I come pick my car up lol.

Byron said that the AFR was something like 11.1 across the board. He said that it was more than conservative, it was very very safe. He said that he dumped in even more fuel to the top so there was no chance of going lean. I sent my dyno charts to ST5150, he said he would put them up, I am looking at them and I dont know how to read what the A/F ratio was? Can anyone help me out reading the graph?
Vortech Saleen> you wanna do the install Sunday or next weekend?

Thanks for the invite. Thanks to Brian for doing the driving as well. With my luck I would have gotten lost even though it wasn't very complicated. I have never seen that done except on tv. It was pretty cool to see it done in person. It wasn't as loud as I expected it to be.

I just wish I could make it up to Sac. to see you run on Saturday. It turns out that I will be in Tahoe for two nights instead of one. A part of me wants to stay home instead of going on nature hikes with the family. The trip has taken a turn for the worse. My Dad doesn't want to ski because he messed up his foot and it just healed. My Mom wants to go and look at the snow. (Yea, that shit will be fun.) My sister just wants to go so she can play games on her Palm pilot in the car. Why in the world would you want to sit in a car for a few hours so you can play games on a screen that is not bigger than a dollar bill. I am tempted to just stay home.

Good luck and congratulations on the numbers.

Jesse

11:1 across the board and still pulling that much HP. I could definitely see how it's capable of 550RWHP.

My power pipe is still in the mail and will probably be here after the weekend...plus I'm going to wait for Naych's dyno tune and see if he can give up his 3.33" on the 17th.

If you want to get it done this Sunday I can use your 3.25" in the meantime and worry about the pipe later?

So here are the dyno graphs.

Here is no ice:

Projecting the curve, it would have hit 530+ RWHP easy if he didn't let up early. With a fat air fuel ratio and 12 degrees total minus modifiers, it easily has room to grow!

Here is the ice pull:

If you project this curve out, it would have made 650 RWHP if he kept his foot in it!!! Some more timing and tuning and 575 RWHP wouldn't be out of the question! Harold makes this look too easy considering its a factory motor.

I'll have video clips of the dyno pulls up soon.

I see what you mean...it actually looks to be getting "safer" as RPM's climb. What exactly is it saying in the 2-3k RPM range...AFR is in the 14-15's?

Nothing. It hasn't reached full advance yet, so the leaner ratio is no real "threat."

CONGRATS HAROLD !!
i know you've been wornking at getting this for a few years now . feels good huh ? your a crazy, crazy guy to run 14#s though... i was crapping my pants at 12#s and look what happen...gotta love them cobra motors..who would have thought that you could get 600 HP from a factory motor w/ some bolt-ons? best ford motor to date IMHO...

damn i didnt know you were gonna run that much boost!

at the bottom of the graph the line you see is is your A/F ratio, the way it looks is you hit 12:1 when you went WOT and held that till about ~5300 rpm and then Byron richened you up to about 11:1 till redline, it looks good. you should try running some high octane fuel and more timing, maybe run 12:1 across the whole board hehehe

Not sure about dyno tuning tonight? Give them a call, they made room for me because it was a retune.
