***CAR IS SOLD-THANKS CAFords!!!***

Well, the Mustang is finally done! And that means it's time to list it for sale. This car just passed Smog with flying colors, and has had a professional alignment since the installation of all the new suspension goodies. 90% of the parts on this car are brand new, and have only been once around my block to make sure everything works, and then back and forth to the Smog shop and alignment place.

 -

Starting with a basic '88 Notch, I stripped the car to the bare tub, scrubbed and painted the entire underside of the vehicle, repairing minor cracks in the floor pan, welding seems, etc. Then I built the car, essentially from the ground up with the following parts.

Chassis and Suspension:

Maximum Motorsports Full Length Subframe Connectors
UPR Upper and Lower Torque Box Reinforcing "Battle Box" Kit
Maximum Motorsports Six Point Roll Cage

The Bad:

(1)The body isn't perfect; there are some dings, a couple of small dents, and the paint is slightly off-shade on one of the doors and both bumpers (I swapped these parts because they were in better shape than the ones that were on the car and I was planning on going to Maaco). I still might paint the car if it doesn't sell right away.

(2)The gauges in the stock instrument cluster don't all work (I am trying to fix this right now).

Anyway, I'm sure I've forgotten some things, but that get's you the basic idea. This car is ready to go out and dominate the road course, or drift around your favorite canyon. You will not find a more well-sorted, expertly assembled fox body for any price. I have worked in racing and high performance shops in the past, and have over 10 years of professional mechanical experience. I was building this car with the intention of keeping it, so you can be sure that it was built right. I even have a fastener checklist with torque values that I used when I went through the car on assembly. It is SOLID!

I'm asking $10,000 obo for this car, because that is what I have wrapped up in just suspension, steering, brakes, and chassis stiffening. Basically you buy all of that and the rest of the car is free!

Feel free to email me with any questions!

Thanks,
Casey Hudson

Hey Casey what's up so your almost done huh just paint it and drive it. I think the best way to advertise is to drive it. Usually when you don't want to sell it and just driving around is when people ask about it. Good luck

BTT...

PLEASE!!!

Read my ad before emailing me. Don't waste my time and I won't waste yours. I just exchanged SEVERAL emails with two different members, both of which didn't see my $10k asking price. I might be willing to negotiate my price, but this is not a $3,500 notch...so don't waste my time if you aren't on the level.

PS-I have a hood, and a few moldings still left to install on the car. More exterior shots to follow, but whoever buys this car isn't going to buy it for the exterior anyway.

TTT for a bad ass coupe.

If I was you I would just paint it and keep it dude.

I'm sure you put in ALOT of hours of you're life that you will never get back building this coupe.

And also, it would be a bitch to have to do it all over again.

Just FYI; I will consider partial to full trades for some classic cars, E36 BMW m3's, late 90's to early 2000's Porsche Boxsters, C5 Corvettes, etc. I will consider a VERY partial trade (like up to $3,000 off my price) for a good condition, lower mileage Nissan or Toyota 2WD pickup truck.

Just posted up on Corral...I'm gonna give the car one week there, and then I think I'm gonna do an eBay listing (I will set a reserve $1,000-2,000 below my current asking price). I'd really like to see the car stay in Northern California, so if you think you want it make me an offer. Me and my buddy have been working on a fun video of what this beast is capable of too...I'll have that on YouTube as soon as it's all edited together (can you say 70mph power-slide!?!). Also got the hood painted and installed. Here's a pic!!! -

That's a clean look'n notch man ! I had an 87ssp with a built 347/novi2000 and a 10pt cage , corbeau racing seats , saleen/racecraft suspension , subframe cnnecters , tremecTKO 600 , alum driveshaft , m&m torque arm , panhard bar and tons and tons of other mods . The thing is to remember with these cars n actually not just mustangs but all cars is that no matter how hard you try you'll never get back what you put in to it when trying to sell . I know it sucks but that's just the way it is . N believe me , I took a serious hit on selling that mustang but needed the dough n had to take a loss on it . But anyhow , very nice car bro n GLWS !!!

Thanks for the compliments, and kind words. It sounds like your car was insanely cool. I can't imagine this thing with a blower.

The bottom line is, I am taking a tremendous hit at $10k, but I'm willing to go even lower than that if somebody brings a serious cash offer to the table. That being said though, I've sold quite a few fox bodies over the years, and I know roughly what a modded car of this caliber is worth, so I think that my expectations are pretty much in line with the price I'm gonna end up sellin this thing for.

Posted by Nifty50 (Member # 9987) on :

Yea , I hear ya . I also have owned/sold more foxbody's than I care to remember and I know what kind of values they carry aswell . My point was that it's gonna be hard period to even get close as to what you may have into it .

I hear ya! Like I said, I put my asking price at right about what I have in suspension and brakes. I paid over $3k for the car when I bought it. I've got substantial money in the seats, belts, and other items from 5.0 Resto. I've got over $1k in new motor parts, and at least that much in the rear-end. And let's not even get started on my time...hundreds of hours! I've never added it all up (because I don't want to make myself sick, but I bet I've got $20k in this car, NOT counting my time. But I'm over it...who wants a bad ass car for a fraction of what it'd cost to build? I need money to finish my '36 Chevy hot rod (Ford powered of course).

As for the question about power...guessing about 290-300 at the wheels.

Most definitely brotha , I was never disagreeing with your
asking price . In fact , I think it's a good deal considering all the mods it has . Buy like you were saying , you have damn near 20k into it . Overall , I think it's a great car and I wish you the best of luck with your sale .

Yeah...it's a fair price for sure, but it's a tough market right now. It's a lot easier to sell a $5k car than it is to sell a $10k car with this economy...even if the $5k car isn't half the bargain that the $10k car is. I just think that the people with $10k cash are fewer and further between than they were 2 years ago.

Dude! I love CAFords!!! I just had a guy offer me $4,000, but asked if he could do payments. He wanted to take the car today, and told me he'd give me $2,000 on July 29th and another $2,000 on August 15th. And the worst part is I think he was trying to be serious!!! Economy must be worse than I thought. [Roll Eyes]

Good luck with the sale bro very clean car., this place kills me. I didn't even waste my time posting my car on here(very similar setup to yours) because I didn't want the hating and whining & crying to start. And what happened the add found it's way on here anyways and the haters picked the car apart anyways.

I completely agree , and that's pretty much what I was getting at is that potenial buyers with 10k are gnna be fairly limited . That's not bcz of the car of course , it's bcz the economy is shit rightnow and alot of people are holding tight to their money .

So...I have an offer of $7,000 and I am seriously considering it. I was just wondering if anybody else wanted to "throw their hat in the ring" before I let this car go. I'll be totally straight with you all...I'll jump at anything over $8,000, but this IS a "best offer" scenario, and so far the best offer I have is $7,000.

If this car sells for $7000 I'll probably cry because I didn't give up $7500 for it. I'm about to buy a house and need to buy another truck. Lol..... I thought about selling my Cobra so I could get it w/o pulling cash out the bank.

Good luck with the sell, hopefully you can hold out for more.

Ok, so my $7,000 offer looks like it fell through, but I have an offer on the bare shell of my car if I decide to part it out. Honestly, I will make more money parting the car out than selling it whole, but I really DON'T want to do that.

If somebody brings me $8,000 cash before the end of the day Sunday, the coupe is there's. On Monday morning I'm going to start pulling everything apart, and listing all of the parts for sale individually.

Feel free to look at the list of parts at the beginning of this post and PM me if you want dibs on anything. I just looked at the odometer from the SMOG when I bought this car back in 2006. I've only put 40 miles on this car the whole time I've owned it, so 90% of the parts on this car have less than 40 miles on them. That being said, the prices I will ask for the parts will be about 75% of the cheapest NEW prices you can find online.

Thanks! [patriot]

Man...I'm all tore up! Now I have somebody interested, but I just did a really conservative list of what parts I have and what they'd probably sell for, and I could get well over $9k if I part this thing out. Is anybody interested in anything, to help influence my decision?

Posted by Casey90GT (Member # 6175) on :

I made a deal with a CAFords member for a cash sale today, but that member called me this afternoon and told me he wouldn't have the cash until Monday. I have had three people blowing up my phone to come get parts off this car since yesterday morning, and as soon as my sale fell through I started emailing them and telling them they could come get their parts.

The car is officially no longer for sale! I will be parting it out. Please look for a list of available parts and pricing in a new post tonight. Several items are already sold/spoken for, so if you want something PM me asap. I will have the car fully blown apart by the weeks end.

Thanks for all the kinda words and interest.

For what it's worth, I'm done with foxbody's but I have a Chevy and a Dodge that will soon be getting 5.0's and T5's so I will probably die a CAFords member!!! [patriot]

parting it out will get u m ore money of course but will take time and effort..however, it is nice to see a complete car go to a good owner and eventually be finished.

You know, honestly...I don't really care what's nice, or what's gonna make somebody happy, or make everybody feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I have had more time wasted trying to sell my "finished" car for a fraction of it's worth than I care to publicly relive. You know the saying "money talks and bullshit walks"? Well so far not one person on this board has showed me ANY money, but the bullshit flows freely, as always. If I see some actual cash; well then who knows what might happen.

MORE CA FORDS DRAMA!!!

Let me start off by saying that the following statements about LSwhat50, 1QUIK93, LSwhat50's mamma, and whoever the f$#k this other guy was are my opinions, and my opinions only.

Furthermore, a lot of you on this board know me, and know that I am a pretty fair guy, and not the type to misrepresent something that I am trying to sell.

Anyway, get out the soda (beer) and popcorn...

So, Thursday the 8th of July LSwhat50 was supposed to come buy my notch, but about an hour after he said he'd be on his way he calls to tell me he doesn't actually have the money. I tell him no problem...I'll just part the car out.

Later that day LSwhat50's cousin, 1QUIK93 starts PM'ing, telling me that I'm not a man of my word, because I told his cousin we had a deal (it was his cousin who didn't actually have the money), and I tell him that this bullsh!t is exactly why I decided to part the car in the first place, but after filling up my PM's, I reluctantly agree to let the kid by the car, so long as he can put the money together by Friday morning.

So I sold the car to LSwhat50 on Friday morning, and I guess he's been out having some fun in it since then, because evidently he broke it! [Eek!]

Early this morning (Monday the 12th of July) my phone gets blown up from some number I don't recognize:

"Hey bro im the one that bought the notch off you. Theres more problems then what you mentioned to us and we spent every last penny with the intention that"

"Theres nothing wrong with the car. The batteries completely dead wont even charge. and the brakes are completely shot. "

"Its up to you what you wanna do but i need the money back. I can return the car and you can part it out like you originally wanted. "

"I left the car at the gas station because it wouldnt start. I jumped it charged the battery. Everything u can name. So i just left it there. I can return your"

At this point I'm kinda trippin' out, cause the number I'm getting texted from isn't the number I've been talking to LSwhat50 from. Then I get a call from this number, and it's some lady (LSwhat50's mom), and she starts in on me about how I've taken advantage of her son by selling him a car that's not reliable. For the record, even as LSwhat50 was counting out his money for the car, I was telling him that this car has a lot of new parts, but that it was a "20 year old car", and "not a commuter". Evidently he was too excited to listen to my cautioning. Anyway, his mom starts in on me about how she legally has 72 hours to return a car for a full refund. WHAT!?! I tell her I'll call her back and hang up.

A minute later some other guy calls me, not LSwhat50, 1QUIK93, or the mom, and starts telling me how I screwed his little cousin over, and that they're bringing the car back up here and expect their money...all the while I haven't heard from LSwhat50, so I call his mom back. I ask her why I'm dealing with her and not LSwhat50 directly, and she tells me he's too ashamed to call me. She tells me how her son has a two hour commute and that this is his only vehicle, and how he only works part time, and can't afford the gas on a car like this.

I tell LSwhat50's mom that there's no way I'm going to refund them the full amount that they paid for the car, because I've already spent some of it. I explain how I had driven the car 36 miles since I put it together, and now her son's had it in his possession for a weekend, and that there's no telling what kind of damage he could have done in that time. I explain to her that I was very forthright with her son about how this is a HIGH PERFORMANCE car, and not a commuter. Then, with no way of knowing what LSwhat50 could have possibly f&*ked up on my notch, I offer to give them a partial refund, what I have left of the cash they purchased the car with...a little less than 3/4 of it. Well, LSwhat50's mom wants me to sign a contract, saying that as soon as I sell the car again I have to pay them the rest of the money...I told her that's not going to happen!

Anyway, the bottom line here...the reason that I am posting all of this up here, is so that when LSwhat50, or his cousin 1QUIK93 come back on here looking for another notch, SELLER BEWARE!!!

This is EXACTLY why I wanted to part the car out...I could tell that these people were going to be a pain in my ass from that first day when LSwhat50 called me to tell me he didn't "actually" have the money yet. But I went against my better judgment and sold him the car anyway, so I guess I get what I get. [BS flag]

total bs man..u have no obligation to accept the car back.

what part of "as is" does one not understand?

That's some crazy shit right there Casey. You have no obligation to give them any money back. I wouldn't. That kid probably beat the shit out of it and now has no money to pay and fix what he broke. Screw those kids. If they don't want it anymore they need to part that thing out. Hopefully they put it in there name. Which I highly doubt considering they are kids and I notice a lot of people don't do it. As is means exactly what it says. As is.

Another hour on the phone with the mom, and she said that I either need to pay the bill at the shop for them to fix the car, or give them back all of the money. I told her that somebody posted that they saw the car driving fast, and at the track, and she told me that when this goes to court I can bring "1000 things from the internet, and she will bring 1000 things too". Looks like I'm getting sued. [patriot]

Are they retarded. You wrote as is on the bill of sale right? Let it go to court. Counter sue for your time and lost wages for having to miss work. Some people I swear.

Sounds like typical CAFORDS

Well, LSwhat50 is already talking about racing people on another part of the forum, so I'm not too worried.

You have nothing to worry about, don't get defensive. Used cars are sold as is, the judge will know the kid dove head first rather than having it looked at by a shop because of all the nice parts on it.

This is all bullshit!
She can go ahead and bring 1000 things to court
Whatever that is?
As long as you have a bill of sale saying sold as is
You have nuthing to worry about.

This sh!t just makes me so angry! I didn't want to sell the car to the kid...he literally BEGGED me to sell it to him. I told him I was just going to part it out, and he would NOT drop it.

I've delt with casey90gt and he's a great guy on the other hand 1quick93 was just a lowballer.

Caseys description of the parts i was picking up were dead on. No B.S with this seller!

That's some fuckin bullshiiiiiiit!!!!! Tell them u will see then in court stop blowing your phone up.. I don't know the final price u sold this car to the kid at but I know this car is worth waaaay more then what u did sell it to him at.. I just bought s Gt that's pretty much the same setup as yours with jus a lil more parts and a built motor and anyone with common sense knows don't make that your fuckin daily driver until u get all the bugs out. U don't owe them shit, he fuckd it up his mommy needs to realize that shit. I'm sorry u even have to deal with this stress cause I been in the exact situation with someone I thought was my boy.. Try not to let is stress u out bro. And whatever u do don't take that shit back or pay em anything cause then u lose. U have this whole board here backing u on the right thing to do.

Bro all I told you was you failed to tell us the starter is bad. He only bought the car because you said it didn't have any problems except for paint. You told us all the problems AFTER we found out for ourselves. All I was asking was for you to be honest and tell us EVERYTHING that was wrong with the car. Today when I called you then you told me Oh yeah the starter is the only thing that's not brand new and gets stuck sometimes or whatever you said. You can ask people on this board that I've dealed with i'm a stand up guy I just expected the same in return, It's all good you can say what you want I have nothing to do with this no more. And the brakes also have something wrong with them. You could of just told us what was wrong exactly from the getgo and not have to deal with this.

Ok so I was trying to be a man about this and speak calmly with you, but since you want to bring my family in this and use foul language, lets all go back to your first post, WTF DOES IT SAY IS WRONG WITH THE CAR!?
PAINT, AND GAUGES
so after driving it for 2 F***** days and taking it to my mechanic, the gauges dont work, the moldings are falling off, the brakes were not installed correctly and are tugging the car and is fu**** the rotors up, the starter is messed up THE FUEL GAUGE DOESNT WORK AFTER YOU TOLD ME IT DID
great job jippping me out of 8k
the motor and suspension is flawless and im happy, but you failed to mention these problems to me
i asked you before you got paid, "in your professional opinion, do you think this is a good car for a daily driver and will last long"
what did you say mr casey
YES..
what did you tell my mom
"i told your son not to buy this car from me"
bs.. karmas a B**** [Whoo Whooooo!]

I seriously doubt all this.

To be honest I would stop talking about it on both sides. To continue to talk about something will more often than not, hurt your court case.

So what I hear is that the starter sometimes doesn't work? If you have been on this forum long enough, you know that a starter is cheap and can be changed in a jiff, not only that, these are corvette brakes on a mustang, don't think there is an exact/correct way to install such a thing. It's all fab work and should have test drove it first and noticed some of these flaws. I am sorry that both parties are not happy, but sure seems like you creamed your pants to get this and drive it like you stole it.

Posted by LSwhat50 (Member # 10123) on :

so after i listed what is really wrong with the car
you guys can have it for 6.5k firm without the wheels
i bought it for 7.9

so what your telling me is.. becuase of a $50 starter you want to bring the car back after dogging it out for 2 days? o wait the moldings are falling off also.. doesn't sound to me like your, handling it like a man with 3 different people calling, but not you..

Posted by LSwhat50 (Member # 10123) on :

not just the starter, the brakes are fukn up the rotors, casey stated that he didnt drive the car much after he built it, so im hoping he didnt know about these problems and sold it to me, cause if he did and still told me there was nothing wrong
thats low..

so after driving it for 2 F***** days and taking it to my mechani 10am Mon

So from what I can conclude it sounds like some more bs. I deduce that there is an error in your timeline. You bought it Thurs it sounds like drove it for 2+days, making it Sat/Sun, but posted this at 10am today. What mechanic is open on the weekends? Unless you heard all of this within an hour before your post and posted it consecutively.

Posted by LSwhat50 (Member # 10123) on :

and to be completely honest, my family doesnt tell me what they do, i had no idea casey was called until i got his message and came on the forums, my plan was to fix what he faulted on and keep it, cause it flies when its working right
but i dont have the money cause all my money went to buying it, once again, bring me 6.5k w.o the wheels and you can have it
casey gave me receipts for most the parts

my mechanic is on cedar blvd in newark, ca
open..
also a family friends..
thanks for trying to prove a dumb point

Posted by K-ris (Member # 6094) on :

Alright well if that is all true, I remember when I first bought a car, everyone would tell me "take it to our mechanic and have it look at it before you buy it." Ever consider that, I am just saying seems like you jumped the gun and didn't inspect it well enough, I see both ends of this story, just think about how you bought a car w/ many high end parts thinking that is was ready for NASCAR, but never had a professional look at it before you DOGGED on it.

sounds like a bad christmas, all the wrapping paper looked great but the toys inside were no good !!!!

Posted by Casey90GT (Member # 6175) on :

All the toys inside were brand new! Even the starter, which wasn't new new, was pretty damn new, but it was just a cheap Kragen starter anyways, so who knows.

Just an update, it looks like I'll be buying the car back, and if/when I do that I will have all of the parts available here for sale individually.

I have a theory on why the brakes are "hanging up", and I will post more on that later, but they should be fine, and if not I'll get them resurfaced and buy new pads before listing them for sale.

Everything else on the car, with the exception of the starter and/or battery should be fine, and I will let you know when things start coming apart.
