with ALL machine work,Comp balance and complete assembly? Shit where are you going? $1100.00 is about going rate if not a lil cheaper, for it to be done right.

think about it 1100 + 1750 = 2850$$ + other parts you better of calling chp. [Wink]

yes if just boring the block yeah thats cheap but you heave to clearance the block for the stroker and balance. As far as running it. I have a r-302 347 i am building plus i have a 331 and this 347 kit i have pleanty of motors. People have thier own opion on stuff but look at the quality. Crower over eagle for rods and this is a High compression motor for people who either do not want to run a power adder or can not afford one. Thanx for everyones support though

you get what u pay for.. if u think 500 a good deal for machine an put together. than so be it. money is well spent in machine work an checking for every little thing. I rather have good components in a well put together motor. just .02 take it ur own way [patriot]

my kit i want is only 950 to 1100 depends on a few things i got with. i got my block 30 over all machenied...for 346.98 from a shop. do the math... i have a stroker windosr for cheap. i will be building my motor tho... so thats some of the diff. also

If you only paid $350 for machine work, you didn't have shit done to it. No line bore, no sonic check, no bore with deck plates. A decent balance job is more than that alone. Also, if your kit comes with a balancer and flywheel...you have a CHEAP kit. I wish you luck in it staying together.

Back to the topic...are you firm on the price?

i was talkin 500 for machine work only..how hard is it to put a motor together..

Posted by Cm4hawks (Member # 5231) on :

Like i told some one else I am not hurting for money. This kit does not eat and it does not take up much space so if some one wants it i will sell it if not its not a big deal.

LOL!!! I hear that alot, especially after a quote is given for a engine build...everyone thinks it's simple and it's easy...yet no one does it.

i wonder what made that windsor a stroker? gettin 30 over ? ok! that's going rate of any decent shop, if not more! u can have as much as 3 grand in machine work with no parts! how far do u wanna go is the real question, of just makin sure it's right while spinnin 8000 rpm, an have a peice of mind that it ain't gonna blow up an destroy the other 4 to 5 grand of damn parts around the short block. or u can go to the junk yard an hope for the best borin 30 over, but youll never be fast just lucky! a 351 30 over is a stroker now by the way.what a waste of typing for some one that is tryin to sell somthin an here i am contributing to the bull ! sorry good luck with the sale. i'd be interested but h beam rods only if i spend any kind of lute!

i heard the hell out of that. these I-beam crowers are nowhere near as strong as an eagle h-beam. i've seen this kit first hand...matter of fact i was there when you bought it from joey. and this is one of the reasons as to why he was discouraged enough to sell it. he was already into the kit for almost $2k and still needed another $1k of machine work. he decided to sell the parts and just buy a complete shortblock that was already assembled.

Posted by BlowN67 (Member # 4229) on :

he wasnt the one that bought the kit from Joey..
theres nothing wrong with crower rods.
